In 2004, the EU accounted for 30.96% of global GDP. By 2024, this share had fallen to 17.41%, nearly halving over two decades. At the same time, the European Union's dependence on the rest of the world for energy, technology, industry, and military capabilities has increased.
Empower Europe is a think tank that aims to place concrete policies at the heart of the European Union's political agendas to strengthen the sovereignty of its member states. It focuses on the key areas of true sovereignty—without which all other policies remain incomplete—namely: industry, defense, and demographics.
